What Did You Miss This Week? (Week 300 #344)

Rapid Recall!!!

Joe continues to work on the Rapid Recall technique in class by playing essential blues licks and phrases for everyone in the class to play back. We're learning it is challenging to do!

Get on board with this learning tool and take your practice time to a new level!

Sonny Jr. To Visit B1!!!

Remember, we'll have Sonny Jr. visiting classes next Monday. In the afternoon Rhythm and Chording class he'll be talking about Sonny Terry and rhythmic playing and in the 8:00pm Level IV class the discussion will likely turn to amplifiers as he is a premier builder of custom harmonica amps. As he mentions inhis nice note below, he will be available outside of class in the late afternoon to chat and answer questions if you want to catch him.

Come out and learn from this terrific guest!

"Mississippi Heat with my good friend Pierre Lacocque is playing the House of Blues on Tuesday the 26th. Pierre was kind enough to work out where I will open their second set with a solo Sonny Terry-like personal piece, then play the second set with the band. We've played together a few times before at Chan's in Rhode Island. Pierre's been one of my favorite stylist players since hearing the band in the early 80's. I look forward to sharing at Joe's class both on Sonny Terry's way of living through the harp and then amps later on. I'll be available after the 2:30 class to do whatever I can to help.

The last time I played in Chicago was in 1978 with Sonny and Brownie at the Quiet Knight, a few years ago..."
