What Did You Miss This Week? (Week 183 #226)

Just A Chance To Play!!!

Joe's out of town this week teaching the East-coasters at Augusta Heritage Festival how to play harmonica and Shoji is on vacation, which left the Grant and RickEy B1 Blues Jam. RickEy talked some about counting and rhythm and there was a lot of great opportunity to play. In the spirit of playing an instrument that is not your primary focus, Grant played guitar, Corporate Kirk played keys and Al Taylor played bass. Fun was had by all!

Johnny Bishop Story!!!

Former Hohner tech and blues player Johnny Bishop is profiled in a Valley News article about moving to a smaller market. Check it out here.

Johnny is a super nice guy and you should be sure to sit down and talk with him at his teach-in table at SPAH this year. Get to know him and place your orders for his Filisko-Method custom Marine Band harps! Johnny Bishop site.

Announcing Pocket Full of Soul's New Website!!!

- this just in from the documentary filmmakers at Pocket Full of Soul

Go to pocketfullofsoulmovie.com and check out our brand new website.

It's got tons of information, interactivity, lessons, links, gig-lists, gear, and some serious soul coursing through what we hope will become a living breathing heart in the center of the harmonica community. The address has not changed, but the hues, tones and the tons of stuff available to surf through sure has and we hope you enjoy the new PFOS web experience.

So check out the "Extras" section for a whole host of new features including harmonica lessons available 24/7, links to manufacturers, info on customizers, retailers, and other people doing cool stuff with the harp and, there's a lot of music to dig into as well. In addition, we've added loads of details about the film, the players, and the harmonica in general.

UPLOAD YOUR OWN VIDEO. As a companion to the website and a portal into the community, we're launching the "Harmonica Hub" at:

harmonicahub.com

We're hoping the hub becomes a nexus for players of all levels, ages, interests and abilities who all share a single spark in their soul for the instrument that to us symbolizes a certain unity of humanity.

So please, enjoy your PFOS experience and keep breathing music!
