What Did You Miss This Week? (Week 205 #248)

Three Draw Bending!!!

Questions about note bending continue to arise so Joe set aside his transcription this week and instead spent valuable time discussing the three hold draw bends. It was a great conversation about how to achieve the bends but also how to think of those four notes within the context of the blues. He carefully outlined the notes' use as our guest Dennis Gruenling did, in terms of their relationship to the chords. Learn the bends but don't forget to learn how they fit into the blues too!

Harmonica Rhythm and Chording!!!

Joe's new group class, Harmonica Rhythm and Chording, has had huge interest. Thanks to all who signed up! (and welcome back Baby Boy!) The class meets Mondays from 2:30pm-3:30pm and there may still be slots open. Check in with the school to find out.

Joe laid some very solid train and fox chase foundations this week. If you are the least bit wobbly rhythmically, this is the place for you! It's going to be an amazing class.

Class Notes
  • Recital highlight CDs from the 15th recital are now available. Take a CD and make any donation you can to the class fund which makes it possible for Joe to hire incredible musicians (Shoji Naito, Highway RickEy and Gavin Tun) to back us all at these recitals.

Jim Liban Field Trip!!!

We're road-tripping to the Milwaukee area to see Jim Liban perform next week. Join us there and reach out to Grant if you want to carpool.
