Week 299 #343 (What Did You Miss This Week?)

Rapid Recall!!!

The permutation of Rapid Recall in class this week was that Joe played a phrase aloud and pointed to folks around the room to have them repeat it. This was very enlightening! Good listening and learning is happening in class right now!

Remember that if you are having trouble, shrink the project. Can't nail the four draw with the slide down to the two, that classic blues sound? Then just work first on the four draw. Isolating your trouble spots is the magic of the Rapid Recall technique.

Pocket Full of Soul!!!

Coming soon to a theater near you! Joe's been working with the producers of the harmonica documentary film, Pocket Full of Soul, filmed in part in our own B1, and there is a screening planned for the Chicago area February 28. See all your favorite harp players on the big screen.

Please note that this screening will only occur if enough people reserve tickets in advance and at the moment, we're 32 tickets shy, so CLICK HERE AND SIGN UP!

Filisko On Tap!!!

Joe's got a handful of good gigs coming up:

Harmonica Hoedown happens February 17 at the Hideout with Bob Kessler, James Conway and special guests! Word is that the Windy City Harmonica Club Trio will be on hand also, playing some "Harmonicats" type stuff, so don't miss this diverse show!

Friday February 22 at 7:00pm Joe will be playing with Glenn Kaiser at the Hangnite House Concert in Lynwood, IL

Joe and Eric are playing a CD Release show at SPACE on March 3.

Full details for all these gigs and more are up on the YouMissedMonday gig calendar.

Sonny Jr. To Visit B1!!!

Sonny Jr. spent time driving Sonny Terry around back in the day, and he's coming to B1 on February 25 to spend some time with us! In the afternoon Rhythm and Chording class he'll be talking about Sonny Terry and rhythmic playing and in the 8:00pm Level IV class the discussion will likely turn to amplifiers as he is a premier builder of harmonica amps.
Come out and learn from this terrific guest!
